Concealed Blinds for Skylights

Rooflight blinds need to travel horizontally without sagging. Our skylight configurations use a perimeter frame — either four-sided, three-sided or paired head/hem boxes — to keep the fabric flat and concealed.

Configurations

5 Ways to Conceal

Each configuration can be sized to your specific opening. See Technical Drawings and BIM files for exact details.

Four-Sided Frame
01 — Configuration

Four-Sided Frame

A complete frame around the skylight — head box, hem box and two side channels — the blind is fully concealed on all four edges.

  • Most refined visible detail
  • Fabric sits inside a continuous rectangular gap
  • Ideal for large flat rooflights
Three-Sided Frame
02 — Configuration

Three-Sided Frame

Head box on one long side, matched with two side channels — used where the fourth side meets a wall.

  • Half the plaster intervention of a four-sided frame
  • Perfect for skylights abutting a vertical surface
  • Can accept dual blinds (see below)
Head Box + Hem Bar Box
03 — Configuration

Head Box + Hem Bar Box

Head cassette at one end, hem-bar box at the other — the blind runs end-to-end between them with no side channels.

  • Works for narrow skylights
  • No visible side channel lines on the ceiling
  • Shortest installation sequence
Head Box Only
04 — Configuration

Head Box Only

Single head cassette at one end and the blind hangs free into the rooflight — simplest and most economical option.

  • One plaster opening
  • Relies on cords or wires to guide fabric
  • Used for small, decorative rooflights
Dual Skylight Blinds
05 — Configuration

Dual Skylight Blinds

Twin blinds (e.g. translucent + blackout) in a single frame — stacked or side-by-side in three-sided frames.

  • Twin fabrics in one plaster opening
  • Switch day translucent for night blackout
  • Stacked for deeper frames; side-by-side for wider
